Places to ride? Questions..

Hey, im am looking to buy a yamaha R6 come spring, but after a buddy of mine came over with his 2006 Raptor 700 i am in love lol. I am sort of thinking about picking up a quad instead of a bike, which i could buy now and not have to wait till spring. But my only issue is, i have NO PLACE to ride.. I live in albany and dont know anyone who rides besides my buddy, what sucks is he works nights, i work days.. So ONE DAY a week id get to ride which is horrible. I know im rambling but can anyone else put some insight on this for me??
